On June 25, Land and Houses Plc, through Mr. Narong Kongkavana (middle, to the monk’s right), Executive Vice President, Service and Customer Relations, represented Land and Houses residents in presenting a truckload of PET drinking water bottles to Phra Khru Bai Deeka Tanupat Achipanyo, who represented Wat Chak Daeng, Samut Prakan province. These bottles will be recycled into blankets for donation to the needy and the unprivileged.
Residents of 12 projects had been invited to join a Land and Houses project entitled “Kho Khuad” (stop wasting bottles), whereby donated PET bottles are gathered and donated to Wat Chak Daeng for recycling and eventual donation as blankets. The project advocates waste sorting from upstream as well as recycling of materials for suitable uses, while fostering residents’ cooperation and responsibility. Representing the most popular drinking water containers, PET bottles are derived from high-quality plastics, with characteristics including light weight, transparency, purity, strength, and recyclability. A Thai model for sustainable waste management, Wat Chak Daeng has restored the applicability of ‘worthless’ items—an idea that agrees with Land and Houses’ policy of valuing the environment together with sustainability through conscientious consumption and minimization of resources. This inaugural activity saw participation of the following projects: MANTANA Bangna km 15, anya Ratchapruek-Nakhon In, NANTAWAN Pinklao-Ratchapruek, PRUEKLADA Ramindra Expressway-Chatuchot, PRUEKLADA Ratchapruek-345, indy WESTGATE, Villaggio Rangsit-Khlong 4, Villaggio 3 Srinakarin-Bangna, Villaggio Bangna, Villaggio 2 Srinakarin-Bangna, Villaggio Pinklao-Salaya, and CHAIYAPRUEK Bangna km 15. Keen interest was shown by all, with plentiful contribution of water bottles.
On this occasion, staff of Livelihood Section, Service and Customer Relations, donated an additional 10,000 baht to buy 60 blankets for Wat Chak Daeng, which will be donating them to the needy and the unprivileged. Committed to valuing the environment and sustainability, Land and Houses supports its workforce’s recognition of public service together with the significance of the common good, sharing, selflessness, and environmental stewardship.
