Significance and Management Approaches

Climate change and global warming, currently faced by all, constitute an issue of interest among numerous groups of stakeholders. The impact is widespread, including violent natural disasters which impact livelihoods, basic infrastructure, society, and the economy, as well as potential impact on the Company’s business operations. For example, risk from construction that may not meet the deadline due to floods, risk from the health of employees and contractors due to heat waves, and higher construction costs due to design for more efficient earthquake resistance. The main cause of climate change is greenhouse gases.

The Company is aware of the issues and is therefore committed to being a part of the drive to reduce GHG emissions in parallel with better living and raise awareness and understanding of climate change among employees and relevant stakeholders. In 2023, the Company charged the Risk Management and Sustainable Development Committee with the responsibility of management, strategic formulation on climate change, potential risk and opportunity management, as well as supervision and monitoring of the compliance with the strategies and reporting to the Board of Directors. This action reflects the commitment and importance placed on the reduction of GHG emission with the aim of moving toward a low-carbon organization.

Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO)

The Company documented its carbon footprint since 2022, comprising data on direct and indirect carbon emissions from office activities, which excluding emissions associated with construction activities. The reports covered carbon emission Scope 1, 2 and 3.
