Donation by employees to Educational Technology for the Blind Center

On February 6, a representative of Land and Houses Plc (left) presented 224 kilograms of used calendars and paper for conversion into Braille educational media for the blind to a representative of the Educational Technology for the Blind Center. The Braille alphabet is a tactile reading and writing system for the blind to use their fingertips to touch six-dot cells that represent letters, numbers, signs, and words, thus helping them access educational and communication media. This activity supports employees’ awareness of social engagement to lend a hand whenever an opportunity arises, with which employees have gladly cooperated.

An arm of the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of HM the Queen, the Educational Technology for the Blind Center has adopted a philosophy of becoming the leader in producing media for the blind to gain access to learning media and apply ideas along with skills and raise their own caliber on a par with others, thus living with honor and dignity. The center’s mission is to focus on producing such media by applying modern technology for greater quality and quantity in tune with the needs of the blind nationwide. The center also strives to become a clearing house for public information.
